By While camera sensors among others are vital for overall performance, one very important aspect of DSLR that can really make or break the results is having the right lenses for the shot. While Nikon was keen to introduce their “newbie-friendly” D3400 DSLR, an entry-level DSLR body, the company also formally announced four new DX-format Nikkor lenses. These lenses actually fit for D3400 the reason they were introduced alongside.
The new AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G VR and AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm F4.5-6.3G ED VR were both introduced to a more affordable versions, one that does not have Vibration Reduction, Nikon’s version of optical image stabilization.
These lenses and its VR siblings were announced by the company in January. And this event marked Nikon’s first entry in putting stepping motors into its DSLR lens lineup. Also, the AF-P 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 offers the trend of having minimal focus distance of 1.1m/3.7ft around a design format that utilizes 14 elements in 10 groups.
These new lenses are lightweight making it an ideal companion for newbies, a target market the new DX-format D3400. Also good to note is that even if these lenses are equipped with Nikon’s Stepping Motor technology for quick autofocus, it does so in a smooth and quiet manner.
Pricing and availability
These four lenses will be available this coming September. For the pricing, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G VR will cost $249.95, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G can be had for $199.95, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm F4.5-6.3G ED VR was tagged $399.95 while the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm F4.5-6.3G ED can be yours for $349.95. All of these offering should entice budding photographers for that needed upgrade.
